The Global Institute in partnering with Crossing Borders (a Copenhagen-based international NGO) to offer an immersive professional development workshop series on Allyship for Equity in Diversity for Civic leaders, Organizational Leaders, Administrators, Educators and Social Change Agents in Denmark and neighboring Scandinavian countries!
The Allyship Program is a comprehensive course for constructive and proactive Allyship upon which participants can thoughtfully explore and understand social inequities in our society and how to address them. The course will provide an intensive framework using impactful models of engagement and it will provide participants with appropriate language to engage in constructive dialogue and action.
Many of us are witnessing well-intentioned individuals wanting to address inequities and/or wanting to engage in conversations about such injustices, but are unsure of how to engage in the sphere in a meaningful manner. It may be because we are unable to understand the intricate frameworks within which these inequalities are thriving or because we simply do not have the right tools to dig deeper or to push farther.
The six modules of this series
● Exploring the “self” and the interaction of the “self” with the social frameworks
● The practice of cultural competency through didactic experiences
● Diagnosis of systemic discrimination, implicit bias, and constructs of inequity
● Examining privilege, stereotyping, and intercultural encounters
● Understanding body supremacy and generational trauma
● Honing dialogic skills to engage in and to work through differences as allies.
Eligibility
There is no age limit to the program, however, it would be appropriate for adults with professional experience as leaders, educators and/or social change agents who are interested in engaging in a comprehensive platform for Allyship
